Vayikach Korach Ben Yitzhar Ben Kehas Ben Levi, u'Dasan v'Aviram Bnei Eliav u'On Ben Peleth Bnei Reuven. Parshas Korach, of course, the whole first part of the parsha deals with the notorious story, the machlokes, the terrible discord, division, the dispute between Korach, his attack on Moshe and Aaron, and the he sowed this division, which was so dangerous and destructive within Klal Yisrael. We wish we were learning a piece of history. We wish we were reading something that is only part of our past. But sadly, the pattern repeats itself. And the same type of behavior and reaction and antagonism and response to our differences is something that continues to plague our people. So the messages and the lessons of Parshas Korach remain very, very relevant and important for us today. So let's begin. Vayikach Korach. So Korach took, and we've in the past, you could listen to the previous years, I was looking at last year's shear. I think we spent the first 50 minutes of the hour on the opening pasuk. We're not going to do that today. We'll try not to do that today. But we have new insights into even that opening pasuk again, Vayikach. Korach, the son of Yitzhar, the son of Kehas, the son of Levi, we stop short of associating him with Yaakov. We go up the chain, but we don't get all the way to Yaakov. We spare Yaakov from being identified with Korach and his plans. And Dathan and Aviram,
