[Music] it's all good my lord [Music] with hashem's loving grace we're delighted to start our new series called the serene soul all about verbal abuse now there's one thing that none of us ever lack and that's verbal abuse because you find it where wherever you go and there's even a midrash that says that uh every soul that comes down to the world that the almighty attaches to it a pack full of verbal abuse why is the verbal abuse so significant so important because it's a fantastic way to correct the soul if well the almighty wants to clean someone up of sin rather than giving them financial problems or health problems sometimes get verbal abuse and we'll talk about why this is is so uh so very harmful on one standpoint but so very useful once we know how to cope with it okay so verbal abuse first of all we're gonna define what we're talking about and we're defined with the problem we're gonna define what the mitzvah is in the torah what the torah says about the torah is very severe about verbal abuse in fact the torah says things about verbal abuse that doesn't even say about murder verbal abuse is a general term for humiliation insult embarrassment and belittlement that people suffer from those around them fell human beings now sometimes the aggressor could be the closest family member and other times it could be a total stranger the common denominator is that the words of the abuser are hurtful and they're damaging and we'll see later in this lesson our subsequent lesson with shem's help that verbal abuse is likely to be much more damaging than uh physical abuse there's one rishon or
