Welcome everyone to our weekly share on the parashah with the parush of the Zera Shimshon. Tonight's parashah is parashat Matot. This week is parashat Matot Massei. It's both parashiyot combined. We're going to do a derush on parashat Matot. I don't believe we've ever done parashat Matot. I might be wrong. I might be wrong. No one cares, really. We're going to do parashat anyway. We're doing derush dalet, the fourth derush of the parashah. This uh shiur, thank you very much to Midianites who came tricked the Jews, did so much wrong to the Jews. 24,000 Jews died because of the Midianites and Hashem said, "You got to go to war with them." But there's some details involved here. Hashem tells Moshe Rabbeinu that "It's up to you to go to war with them. As long as it takes, you'll have to go to war with them. So it's either this or you or Moshe Rabbeinu dies. Meaning, Rabbeinu dies. Meaning, this is the last thing you will do in your life before you die." So imagine Moshe Rabbeinu is literally being told, "Until you go to war to Midian with the Midianites, you're not going to die. This is going to be the last thing you'll have to do." Which one of the things that Chachamim gives the chutzpah to Moshe Rabbeinu is Moshe Rabbeinu did not delay a second. He knew that after he goes to war with the Midianites, he's no longer going to be a long among the living. However, he didn't say, "Okay, all right, I think we could put this on a back burner for a
