good morning everybody um we are continuing our study of the book of shemoel uh we're at the very end just the last few verses of chapter 14 which i'd like to read with you briefly and then we're going to focus most of our attention in today's class on chapter 15. chapter 15 discusses the famous or maybe infamous battle between sha'ul and the people of amalek which is going to be a major turning the kingdom of um we're going to talk about the time a lot that's the uh the ability to go um so for those who are following along you could follow in the screen in front of you or if you have a tanakh at home or navi where in uh chapter 14 pedigree sorry about that i've lost each other for just a moment hope you didn't know me um the internet working okay uh okay hopefully that's a little better okay okay um so like i said we're up to chapter 14 pedagogy we're up to verse 46 so we'll read and translate and talk about some of the ideas that are present here so last we left off were victorious against the police team jonathan's courageous act that sent the polish team into quite a bit of chaos polish team into quite a bit of chaos um but then we also saw some tension between jonathan and um and shaol his father uh because jonathan does not follow through with the promise with the oath about not eating on that day um and as a result hashem does not answer shahu's question and when he uncovers that it was jonathan who was guilty he wants to kill him but the people save him so clearly we see about a lot of tension between shaolin
