The Gemara in Sanhedrin 78, and also Tanna debei Eliyahu says that the students of Rabbi Eliezer Hagadol asked him, the great Tanna, they asked him, "Rabbi, mana ase, what should we do le inatzelem me Mashiach, me chevlei Mashiach? What should we do to survive and not get hit in the days of Mashiach?" So, Rabbi Eliezer Hagadol told them two simple answers. Ya'asku ba'Torah, you got to be busy with learning Torah. And two, gemilut chassadim, make sure you do chesed with one another. And by the way, the Chafetz Chaim says chesed [snorts] doesn't only mean giving tzedakah, chesed only mean also means complimenting others and staying away from lying, curses, and lashon hara. When you stay away from lashon hara, you're under that category of doing chesed. So, says Rabbi ELIEZER HAGADOL,
