okay so we're here on this uh day of yom yerushalayim which i'm going to mention something about that uh to start off uh we're up to chapter 20 pederkoff the second to last chapter in the book of shoftim uh and before i introduce the chapter i just thought to mention just a brief point about you shall i because that is the day that it is today yo miru shalayim is the day in which we remember that 54 years ago in 1967 um we regained control of the old city uh subsequently there was peace discussions and we gave back to temple mount and different things but for at least a brief moment we saw the power of hashem helping out our armed forces and the miracles that hashem is capable of as we rebuffed all of the arab nations that came to attack us in just six days the casualties were nowhere near what they thought they were going to be and uh and the crisis was averted but not just averted we tripled the size of the state of israel we took on territory that we never had had before and it was really a turning point for the state of israel in just 19 years after it had declared um its independence and so the city of usharam is so dear to us it's central to everything about our religion three times a year we have to go to the city of on a pilgrimage to come to the house of hashem and offer sacrifices and be with our brothers and sisters from all over and celebrate the greatness of hashem and being a member of israel together um we pray always facing israel and those who are inherited israel pray facing
