[Music] The mitzvah of prophecy. What is significance of prophecy? Is it hereditary? And are there prophets today? The Torah tells us in Deuteronomy that If avi amongst you from your brothers If avi amongst you from your brothers who will be like me, says Moses will arise from amongst you that God will establish from amongst the people of Israel. Then you shall listen to that nvi to that prophet. Similarly, the Raam has a negative commandment and the Raam there says in mitzvah 27 based on the Puk that he will prophesy something which he did not hear. In other words, he heard another hear. In other words, he heard another prophet prophesying and he comes along and says, "God prophesied to me." That's a negative commandment. You can only give a prophecy that God came to you to give but not a prophecy that God gave to another prophet to give. And then there are other mitzvah connected with prophecy. Okay. to understand the level of prophecy on five levels of first and foremost what is the meaning of a novi what does it mean to be a prophet sashi tells us that the meaning of a novi is a person that comes to preach and to inspire the people that is the concept of a novi and he brings a proof from a verse in Yesha that the word Nvi ethmologically comes from the word
