okay good morning everybody uh welcome in via zoom for studying the book of shimo el uh chapter 20. um feel free if you have a question to unmute yourself and go ahead and ask as we go through uh studying this uh what is a long chapter together hopefully we'll get through it all if not we'll pause in the middle and pick up next week uh but let's see how we do um to refresh our memories chapter 19 to refresh our memories chapter 19 uh the uh divide between sha'ul and david to say the least continues to grow outwardly says that he wants to kill david he makes several attempts to kill david um he does take an oath at one point to not kill david but as we see he continues to send messengers to retrieve devi he tries to kill him in the middle in the in the early hours of the morning david has to sneak out and run away so several attempts are made by sha'ul via attempts are made by sha'ul via messengers and himself um to take david's life the chapter culminates in sha'ul uh in a in a uh prophetic frenzy together with shimo el and all of those other messengers that are around them um despite several attempts to uh get at david we find that shall is unsuccessful and that's really where the chapter ends really talking about the deterioration of where shall has come to what's going to be interesting is chapter 20 now that we're going to read
