[music] On this episode of Small Talk, I'm going to be joined by Dr. Edward Lieovix who is the vice chair for clinical affairs department of medicine, the upper professor and director of the division of gastroanthology at New York Medical College in Westchester Medical Center. and he is also the editor of the Turo and he is also the editor of the Turo Tur University and New York medical college medical hala annual which is published in conjunction with Mosaic press and now the third volume has just been published is what we'll be discussing generally the series if you will and as well as this volume as well so thank you Dr. Vix for joining me. >> My pleasure. >> Okay, so how and why did this medical annual come to be? The way it actually happened was I was sitting at a withda. We were kusas many years ago in yeshiva. Tur University had just taken over New York Medical College where I'm on the faculty as you mentioned and uh we were talking about the role that uh Turo may play being an Orthodox Jewish institution and uh I mentioned at the time that I think there is no regular English language indepth language indepth publication on medical Aloha quite honestly as I recall he was initially reluctant because of the possibility of controversy that may may arise but eventually reached out to me and said go ahead do it as I recall kind of assigned me to do it so which I was happy to do. >> So this is a few years ago and this is now the the third volume. So we'll a couple different questions I have but let's just start like you mentioned controversy like there might be a potential controversy that's you nervous
