Okay, so we're on page 145. Uh Is that No. Which page? 145. 145. This is a very famous passage. Passage of Jacob's dream, the ladder, the angels going up and down. Um And as usual, we just want to get straight on what it says, what its implications are on the surface. There's endless endless Torah on this section. It's four verses long. I'm going to read you through the four verses and change a couple of the translations, and then we'll go back and analyze it piece by piece. Starts at verse 13. >> [snorts] >> And behold, Oh, sorry. I'm sorry. With verse 12. One before that. We're on page 145. So, this is Jacob's dream. Starting with verse 12, towards the top of the page. And he dreamt. And behold, a ladder was set earthward, and its top reached heavenward. And behold, ain't Now, angels of God, really it's agents of God. The word angel in English means God's agent. So, angels of God is really redundant. And the word in Hebrew which they translate as angels here could be used for human beings also. It means agent of. Behold, agents of God were ascending and descending on it. There's no [clears throat] paragraph break in the Hebrew. So, don't read anything into the space in the English. And behold, the sham the sham was standing over him. >> [clears throat] >> And he hashem said, "I am hashem, God of Abraham, your father, God of Isaac. The ground upon which you are lying, I will give it to you and to your descendants. Your offspring shall be as the soil of the earth, not dust. And you shall spread out powerfully westward and eastward and northward and southward. And all the families of the earth shall bless themselves by you and by your offspring. Behold,
