Okay, good morning everyone and hab. Thank you for joining us on this beautiful Thursday morning as we are studying today has in it a very uh interesting mitzvah. The mitzvah of means showing away the mother bird. Torah says if you happen to be walking by the nest of a bird right on any tree Allah it or even if it's on the ground if it's on your window sill it doesn't matter where. Oetim, you find young birds or eggs. It doesn't matter which one. Okay? So, you're walking and you see little chicks, you see little eggs. And the mother is nesting on the chicks or on the eggs. You're not allowed to take the mother You're not allowed to take the mother and the children. Rather, you have to shoe away the mother bird. and you could take the children. Okay, you're allowed to take the the chicks, you're allowed to take the eggs, but on condition that you first chew away the mother, you're not allowed to do um to take both. Now, this is a um very interesting midvat. It's not clear exactly what is the reason of this mitzvah. Um the reason of this mitzvah. Um the Rambam says that um it's um you know it's to instill mercy, mercy, compassion. Nakman says that um it's not so much about Hashem's mercy, it's about mercy in us. It's uh some say it's about you know you you don't want to cause a a species to become extinct and so taking the mother and the child is uh it's a two generational thing. So it's like almost
