Good morning everyone. Welcome back to Beyond Breakfast. This week's parsha is parsha Ki Tisa. And um Rav Dessler uh goes and starts his parsha drasha at the end of the parsha which talks about the mitzvah of michiyat Amalek, the utter destruction of the memory of Amalek. And the pasuk says at the end of Zochor asher salcha Amalek baderech betzeitcham Mitzrayim. Remember what they uh what Amalek tried to do with you. They attacked you on the way out of Egypt. Asher karacha baderech be'ein Elohim. Vayiznav becha kol hanichshalim acharecha ve'ata ayef. Right? They said they attacked you on the way. They cut up all your stragglers showing no fear of God. Uh vi'yiga velo yare Elohim. Uh you know, uh timcheh et zecher Amalek mitachat hashamayim lo tishkach. That is the commandment. You shall therefore blot out the memory of Amalek from under the heavens. That is your mission if you choose to accept it. Now, Rav Dessler often speaks about this idea that in every single different nation of all the shivim umim, they each have I mean they all have a specific dominant character which uh they express. Okay? And therefore he says even that um the reason why God did this is because God's had a uh tremendous pride that in in the work in the work that he created. But he also wanted all these other nations have some midah that Am Yisrael could learn from. Whether it was aggressiveness that can be turned you know against the forces of evil. Pleasure seeking can be good if it's aim can be turned to the spiritual pleasure and so on and so forth. So every midah in the world that
