okay uh good afternoon everybody thank you so much for uh joining us on this rescheduled class i know usually monday's our day but uh thank you for coming on uh on this wednesday so that we uh don't lose a week of our studies um today's class we're going to go hopefully 45 minutes um that's the goal and we're going to try to get through chapter 10 and maybe parts of chapter 11. um we just came off last week the horrible story of avi melech one of the sons of gidon who one of the sons of gidon who kind of runs into the ground he's a ruthless reckless individual someone who bulldozes anybody in his way um is a murderous individual until he finally makes his own demise um in that same way um by being killed by a woman of all people right and so the irony we portrayed last week was very evident the problem is is that after avimelech's death we're still left with a pretty big void uh amis rael are still left reeling they're are still left reeling they're leaderless they have now enemies from within as well as from without um and we really don't have much direction as to who is going to lead bene israel and steer us in the right direction and as you might expect ben israel are going to easily go off the rails i even think that was the end of chapter 10 that at the end of chapter nine excuse me that banane is continued to do what is bad in the eyes of hashem and chapter 10 opens with two brief accounts of
