[Music] gentlemen welcome to practical spirituality here in the old city of Jerusalem at Asia tour overlooking the Western Wall I think that happiness is a bit of a problem in that it it fools us into thinking that that's the goal because anytime you feel happy it just feels so good that you start to think wow wouldn't it be great to always feel this way and next you know you're making happiness the goal and a lot of people do that and commercials do that marketers do that you know it seems like it seems like the whole world is willing to market happiness and but meanwhile everyone knows if you make happiness the goal you'll spend a lot of your life unhappy because life's not happy it's just not happy you know can you not can you save that for a late comer please so life's just not really that happy if if you were so happy all the time you'd probably be on glue there's no happiness that's consistent like that you know people don't generally for example most people don't wake up happy you know and and when people are working they're not necessarily experiencing happiness and and so I making happiness the goal is a great way to spend your life
