The the role of social networking in our lives and being able to be productive, and maybe even in making friends and friendship. Now, I'm sort of a strange person to be delivering this talk, and I'll explain to you why. Some of you may know, I own a social network. I I own I actually own the largest Jewish to know each other. So, the first thing I want to tell you is that social networking was not invented by Mark Zuckerberg. And it wasn't even invented by the people who he plagiarized it from. Right? Uh social networking actually goes all the way back to the Gemara. The Gemara, David Hamelech, speaks about the concept of social networking. And I'll tell you where. It's in the And I'll tell you where. It's in the Gemara in Brachot. The Gemara says that the Chachamim came to David Hamelech and said, "Am Yisrael tzerichin parnasa." They need parnasa. The Jewish people need You're our king. You should help us get a parnasa. So, David Hamelech answers with a cryptic answer. He says, "Se'u u'fanu zeh u'zeh mizuz." Go make parnasa from each other. What was that answer? What was Where are they expected to make parnassa from if not from each other? And yet David not from each other? And yet David thought that's a sufficient answer. You need to make parnassa. He's not going to send them to push them. So what is he answering to parnassa mizoo? So the basic way of understanding it is also the way of understanding what social networking is. Very simple. This is social network 101. I have 30 friends. My sphere of influence are those 30 friends. You have 30 friends. Your sphere of influence are your 30 friends.
