Welcome to Episode 36 of the Goldenberg Destiny Project. At the end of the Babylonian exile, the great sages and prophets of the Jewish people who were in Babylon, they formed something called the Knessess Hagedolah, the Great Assembly. And these were called the Men of the Great Assembly. And today I want to talk about what they did. The work that they did was beyond incredible. They set Judaism and the Torah on a path where it could last for thousands of years by itself. They fortified it. They made it able to last. And they also did something else which we will get to afterwards, which actually changed the entire course of world history. All of world history that we will discuss as we go on, and all the different turmoil and forces and conflicts that take place in the Imperial Quadrant throughout history until this very day are all determined by something that these people called the Anshei Knessess Hagedolah, the Men of the Great Assembly, this is something that they did which really drives the entire course of history, for good and for bad. The people who were on this Assembly, on the Anshei Knessess Hagedolah, I want to read some of the names, they were great sages, they were prophets, they were the leaders of the people, the elite, and there were a hundred of them. So just some names are Baruch ben Neriah, who was a student of Jeremiah the prophet. And there was Mordecai and Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, Ezekiel, Zerubavel and Ezra.
