0:00 Fortunate are you, Israel! Fortunate are you, Israel! May Hashem, blessed be He, bless everyone: Heavenly help, joy, a happy Purim, rejoicing with everyone, salvations for everyone, miracles and wonders for everyone, all the blessings and good bounty, in good that is seen and revealed, out of joy and gladness of heart. To rejoice with great joy on this day of Purim, as much as possible, to increase in great joy, to remember all that our Sages, of blessed memory, taught us. Maran, the Shulchan Aruch, rules in siman 695 on the obligation and the joy of these holy days: especially to increase in them, as days of gladness and joy, to increase in them with joy, as great as possible, especially after all the miracles and wonders that Hashem, blessed be He, has done for us, to thank, to praise and to laud the One Who spoke and the world came to be,

0:41 to rejoice, to prepare a feast and rejoice, as the Shulchan Aruch wrote. And of course, what we know, that as much as possible, according to the hidden wisdom, and the great joy of these days, in which we are able to rejoice: in these days one merits to attain the level of the "head," and to reach a high and tremendous level that has no measure. In the She'iltos of Rav Achai Gaon, in siman 67, he writes that we rejoice and sing on this day, the great joy, the great joy precisely on this day of Purim, when we rejoice and sing. All the Jewish people need to rejoice, and are obligated to rejoice.

1:14 To rejoice: Rav Achai Gaon writes that all the Jewish people are obligated to eat and drink and rejoice, and to thank and praise Hashem, blessed be He. In these days, he writes, this is an absolute obligation, the greatness and the great importance. And so too in the Shibolei HaLeket: that the Jewish people are obligated to rejoice and drink and sing at the table, at home with their friends, in joy on this day, that this is a merit without measure, and there is no greater merit than this.

1:39 And especially, this is the day of gladness and joy, Purim. This is the day of gladness and joy from which we draw joy for the whole year, and everyone must increase in vitality and enthusiasm and great, tremendous joy. And of course, even though the custom, following the Raavyah, is to make a meal at night, that we make a meal in the evening as well, a bit of a meal, not a big meal, but a small meal, because the Purim feast is not for the night, it is for the day, as the Gemara says in Megillah, on page 7, in the name of Rava, that the obligation of the Purim feast is that a person makes them "days of feasting."

2:12 "Days of feasting and joy" is written about these days, so we don't do it at night. It is not at night. So, following the Raavyah, we make a little something of joy at night too, to have some foods for a blessing, and wonderful delicacies, and also to make the main feast by day, because "a Purim feast eaten at night, one has not fulfilled his obligation," as Rava says, on "days of feasting and joy." But see how much importance the Sages taught us, and stressed to us, to rejoice in these days and to keep these days, as the Rambam ruled in Hilchos Megillah, chapter 2, halachah 14, on "days of feasting and joy": that one must increase in gladness and joy precisely on this day, and rejoice, and rejoice with great joy, and be in light and vitality and enthusiasm, and drink as much as one can. Whoever drinks should drink, of course, with a settled mind, not to lose his mind, Heaven forbid,

2:58 but to drink out of joy, as the Rambam ruled: that he should drink, that a person should drink much wine, until he falls asleep drunk. For this is the most important thing: that a person reaches such a level that he sets aside his own intellect. In chapter 2, halachah 15, as the Rambam ruled: that through the sleep, he falls asleep, he sets aside his intellect, he sees that everything is a revelation of G-dliness, everything is complete good, and everything... The more a person sees everything with joy, and he sees everything as a reality of good, he does not enter any state, Heaven forbid, of judgment or sadness, Heaven forbid. One must increase in joy, for there is no mourning on Purim, and no judgment at all on Purim, and one must increase in great joy on Purim, as much as possible.

3:38 "Gladness and joy they shall attain, and sorrow and sighing shall flee." Everyone should increase in great joy, everyone should be full of life, of enthusiasm. According to the Maharil, one who cannot drink so much, like that, in joy: according to the Maharil, a person should drink a little more than he is used to, and so he sleeps, and with that he can fulfill the obligation, according to the opinion of the Maharil. And according to the Agudah, the measure of drinking is: as much as a person drinks until his head feels heavy on him, so that he has a bit of heaviness in the head and cannot work out the reckoning of the numbers between "Cursed is Haman" and "Blessed is Mordechai." And with that he can fulfill the obligation.

4:13 And according to our master, the holy Arizal, it is that a person drinks until he errs and gets confused, so that he says "Blessed is Haman" in place of "Blessed is Mordechai," that he gets confused. That is, as it were, the reckoning. But each person can do according to... he can rely on it; we have so many to lean on. But the main thing is that people drink and rejoice on this day, because there is very, very, very great merit and importance in this, for it brings very, very great pleasure to Hashem, blessed be He, and this is what can bring a person to mochin d'gadlus, expanded consciousness, and to the "head" for the whole year. It is a merit and importance with nothing above it, to rejoice on this day.

4:47 And may it be His will that we all merit to rejoice and to bring pleasure to Hashem, blessed be He, and that the geulah come in our days, that we merit to be redeemed with a high hand, and that the Holy One, blessed be He, watch over all the Jewish people and give everyone protection, and good life, and salvations, and miracles and wonders, and all the blessings and good bounty, in good that is seen and revealed, out of joy and gladness of heart. Fortunate are you, Israel! "Be strong, and let your hearts take courage, all who hope to Hashem." The main thing is to be joyful, to think good thoughts, to trust in Hashem, not to be afraid and not to fear anything in the world, and to trust and lean solely on Hashem, blessed be He.

5:19 And we love Hashem, blessed be He, in whatever He decrees and in whatever He does: to love Him, and to pray for all our brothers, the Jewish people, that we merit to be redeemed with a complete geulah, and that Hashem, blessed be He, watch over all the Jewish people wherever they are in the world, with protection and defense, salvations, miracles and wonders, all the blessings and good bounty, in good that is seen and revealed, out of joy and gladness of heart. Be strong, be strong, be strong! Salvations and all good, selah.
