It's Sonia live in LA with Dr. Sonia Friedman. Hello and welcome to our program. We have a very hot program for you today. I'm Sonia Friedman and our first person today relates to things that you see on the news. Every night on the news as a matter of fact, we watch scenes of the violence from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Scenes of young Israeli soldiers being stoned and taunted by Palestinian teenagers. We've seen the Palestinian teenagers. We've seen the troops use clubs and guns to break up angry crowds and watched as grieving families, both Israeli and Palestinian, bury their dead. The violence in the Middle East has split world opinion. Even some of Israel's most staunch supporters are speaking out against the army's brutal tactics. Yet, the Israeli government is standing fast by the decision to crack down on protestants. Rabbi Meir Kahane, the founder of the controversial Jewish Defense League, supports the strong arm of the supports the strong arm of the government. Kahane is now an Israeli political party leader and a member of the Israeli Knesset. Welcome. You are a very controversial figure and now with all that we see on the news, it would appear that American Jews are taking another look at the policies of Israel and I wonder if that impacts negatively on the message that you have been speaking. I think it's just just the opposite. I think that the American Jewish leaders don't speak for anybody except themselves and their spouses.
