In the previous episode, we talked about the birth of Helenism that when Homer wrote his uh epic poem called the Iliad about uh the Trojan War and he basically in his epic poem he captured the gods and he showed that the human being is superior to the gods. So right away he undermined the respect that people had for the gods. But they still believed that they had powers. But already they have powers. Fine. You got to be careful. Everything is important. But who is superior? Very possible that the human human beings are superior to the gods. No. Human beings are talented and creative and they make beautiful buildings and art and sculpture and literature. So this okay but at this point Helenism was only like a body with a mind and a heart but no soul. It didn't have a view of the universe of the great questions of existence. It didn't develop that yet until the philosophers came along. As we spoke at the time of Anakessa killed the visor, the devotional drive that was part of the makeup of people at that time. They changed the entire makeup of the human race and the people were no longer driven by an innate need to connect to divinity. They were set free and then they had a choice which way to go.
