Lehavin Inyan Ha'Brachos #1: Why Idolatry Was So Tempting

Okay, welcome everybody. Good morning. Baruch haba'im. We'll have this class today to start a new ma'amar. We finished K'kasha Shamayim Chadashim v'Eretz Chadasha, the new earth and the new heaven. So, today we'll begin a new ma'amar. It'll be the The ma'amar called as L'havin Inyan Habrachos. To understand what brachas are, what blessings are. It's also in Torah Ohr Bereishis, page 11. The ma'amar K'kasha Shamayim that we finished was the second ma'amar in Torah Ohr. And this is a few ma'amarim later, page 11, the first column all the way on the bottom. In the Hebrew it's dalet vav, column one. Vav, column one. You'll see on the bottom L'havin Inyan Habrachos. This ma'amar by the Baal HaTanya, by the Alter Rebbe, was said Shabbos Parshas Vayeira, tav kuf sameach dalet. That would be 1803. And he said it at a wedding. At the seudah of a wedding of a man named Reb Alexander Sender Frumkin, who became a son-in-law of Reb Aaron Halevi Mistrachella. Reb Aaron Mistrachella, his name was Reb Aaron Halevi Horowitz, was one of the greatest students and chassidim of the Alter Rebbe. At his son-in-law's wedding, Shabbos Vayeira tav kuf sameach dalet, I guess it was the meal, probably Friday night or Shabbos day, with the meal of the chasunah, uh the Alter Rebbe said this ma'amar. It's a ma'amar on brachas, but he specifically focuses on some of the brachas that we say in the Sheva Brachas. During a chuppah, during Sheva Brachas. This is why he said it at the wedding. And it was put into Parshas Bereishis that Tzemach Tzedek organized Torah Ohr and called it Torah Ohr, put it in the Shabbos Bereishis to also see clearly, because it speaks about the creation of Adam, which is in the brachas of Sheva So to my mind from tough course down.
