This Shabbos, Yud Aleph Adar is the Yahrtzeit of Gaon u'Tzaddik Maran Rav Chaim Yosef Dovid Azulai, the Chida. Let's try to uncover a little bit of the significance of the Yahrtzeit of the Chida being on Yud Aleph Adar. Furthermore, the Chida passed away on Shabbos Zachor. So, the Chida is inextricably bound with the destruction of Amalek. One of the great revelations of the Chida is that if Klal Yisrael would dedicate themselves on Purim in their free time to learn Torah as much as possible on the day that Amalek began to fall, he will be completely destroyed. The Chida's soul is inextricably bound with the destruction of Amalek. Let's try to explain. The Shlah Hakadosh reveals Megillah Nikreis B'Yud Aleph, Yud Beis, Yud Gimmel, Yud Daled Tes Vav. Between Yud Aleph and Tes Vav, Yud Aleph and Tes Vav is the Shem Havaya. 11 and 15 is the Shem Havaya. Tes Vav is the Yud Kay. Yud Aleph is the Vav Kay. 12, 13, 14 equals 39. That's the Klala Lit, Lamed Tes. That's the Klala of Amalek that tries to be Mafsik between the Yud Kay and the Vav Kay. It's interesting. The Yismach Moshe writes, "Ki Yad Al Keis Kah." Yud Kay Vav Kay stands for "Yismachou Hashamayim Besagal Ha'aretz." Amalek says, "We're good with the Yud Kay. With the Yismachou Hashamayim, let God remain in heaven. But, Besagal Ha'aretz, the Vav Kay, is what Amalek has a problem with.
