Uh, what I like to talk about today, for obvious reasons, is uh Tisha B'Av, which we are going to be commemorating on Thursday, you know. Um, now Tisha B'Av has many different facets. Has many different dimensions, you see. And uh the first the first thing to ask really is Tisha B'Av, obviously we know what happened, is that the Beit Hamikdash, the first and the second, were destroyed on the same day, which is the ninth day of Av. So, we know that, right? But when you think about that, the real question is that this happened a long time ago. In fact, it happened in um 1,900 and 52 years ago. That's when it happened. In other words, 68 C.E. That's when the the second Beit Hamikdash was destroyed. So, what we really have to ask ourselves is what does that mean? So, what what do we commemorate really? You know, it happened a long time ago, you know. So, the question that we have to ask is like, you know, uh of course it it's it's relevant to us, obviously, but why do we mourn it so much, you know? We could we we miss it, you know, but mourning is worse than that. When you mourn, it's because you have suffered a loss, and therefore you mourn that loss, you know. So, the question is why do we mourn? Mourning, like I said, is a very severe form of um I don't know if you use the word depression, but it's certainly a very form a very strong form of grief.
