Shalom u'vracha chevre, it's such a privilege to be able to learn with you as we come up to Shavuos, especially to dedicate our learning l'iluy nishmas Zachariah Wallerstein zt"l. His memory should continue to be a blessing and he should continue to be a melitz yosher for all of us who are following and learning from his example. So as we come up to Shavuos, it gives us an opportunity to re-examine the core essence of our faith as a nation. We become a nation on Shavuos, we're born at the foot of Har Sinai, and it gives at the foot of Har Sinai, and it gives us the opportunity to pause and to say to ourselves, what is it that we actually believe? Like what what is the essence of this nation? What's the purpose of the Torah for which Am Yisrael was created to keep within the world which was created for us to be able to follow the Torah, the essence of which as Chazal tell us is emunah. B'Chavakuk v'Amos and all achas, we can distill the whole entire Torah down to one thing, v'tzaddik b'emunaso yichyeh. What is this emunah? What is the essence What is this emunah? What is the essence of the Torah? So the Zera Kodesh, the Hiliger Ropshitzer Rebbe, one of the early Chassidic masters, says the following, beautiful beautiful idea. We read in the psukim that Am Yisrael come to Moshe Rabbeinu at Har Sinai and they are frantic in their request that Moshe tell Hashem to stop to stop speaking the Aseres Hadibros directly to the Bnei Yisrael, but rather he should speak them through Moshe. He should tell them to Moshe and Moshe should communicate them to the people. Why?
