What’s said in this shiur
The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Daniel Glatstein’s own words— taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.
Okay, good morning friends. Shalom aleichem. Today is Shushan Purim, a freilichen Shushan Purim. Today is also the fourth yahrzeit of Maran Hagaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Shmaryahu Yosef Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Chaim. And I was thinking is there a connection between today's calendar date, Shushan Purim, and Rav Chaim Kanievsky? Certainly there and Rav Chaim Kanievsky? Certainly there must be. If one of the great gedolim of our generation passed passed away on this date, there must be some deep connection between Shushan Purim and the life and the legacy of Rav Chaim Kanievsky. When it comes to Sukkos, it's the 15th day of Tishrei. And lo and behold, when we come to the Yom Tov of Purim, what day is Purim? It depends where you live. Depends where you live. You know, live. Depends where you live. You know, if you live in a city that doesn't have a wall, it's the 14th. If it's a walled city, it's the 15th. And there there was actually in the news an area that a city in the north that was uh a medieval It was a medieval city. And it had an ancient wall. And there was a question when that wall was built, and Rebbe Yitzchak Yosef recently issued a psak what day should
