Okay, good morning, everyone. We're continuing yesterday we learned Siman kuf sameach zayin sif hey. Where the machaber said do not break the bread until they bring before you the salt or the dips, something eaten with the bread. However, there's certain conditions that it's not necessary if it's pas nakia. If it's clean bread. What does that mean pas nakia? The Mishna Berurah said pas nakia is wheat. Wheat bread. Pas nakia does not need salt. Or if it has spices in it. Or if it has salt in it. Or if you don't intend to eat it with salt, then there's no reason to wait. What was the reason for this halacha? Which is based on the Gemara Berachot daf mem. The Mishna Berurah gave two reasons. Number one, so that it should be eaten in a tasty way to honor the bracha. You want to make a bracha on the food in a way where it will be eaten b'ta'am. Furthermore, since you're probably going to summon it because you want it to taste good, then it's going to be it's going to be a hefsek and l'chatchila it's assur to be mafsik. Um so for these two reasons you should have bread you should have the salt ready before you. Cover to the bracha and to avoid hefsek. However, if it's wheat bread or it has spices in it or it has salt in it or you're not interested in having it with spices, uh you don't have to wait. There's nothing to wait for. Now the Ramak kicks in and the Ramak says hagoyim kol amam mitzvah l'havi al kol shulchan melech kodem sheyifta. It's a mitzvah to put on every table salt before you break the bread.
