What’s said in this shiur
The opening of this shiur, in Rav Eliaou Benloulou’s own words— taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.
Shalom, we continue our study of our Shabbat meals. We are now in chapter 13. So it's interesting because they are practical and sometimes we either do n't know them or we've forgotten them. So we're going to review them together, for those who know them and for those who do n't, well I hope that it will allow you to make progress on this subject. Shabbat is such an important subject anyway that a whole lifetime is not enough to study the laws of Shabbat and not studying them is necessarily transgressing Shabbat every week, our sages tell us. It is stated that anyone who does sages tell us. It is stated that anyone who does not study the laws of Shabbat in detail is necessarily unconsciously transgressing Shabbat every week, and I am speaking for myself first and foremost . I'm talking to myself. So it is important to study, to re-study, to re-study. It is the cornerstone of Judaism, it is the cornerstone of the Torah. And to do that, we must perfect ourselves in the Sabbath voice. The chapter is titled "Washing the Dishes on Shabbat". So gentlemen, I hope this will give you some inspiration for those who do not wash the dishes on Shabbat dishes on Shabbat and ladies for those who do wash them, well, this may allow you to improve on this subject. Of course, the basic rule is that it is forbidden to wash dishes on Shabbat. Basic theorem, unless one intends to reuse it during another Shabbat meal. Yes, according to the ravad, the reason lies in the fact that this represents an exaggerated fatigue linked to preparing for Shabbat during the week.
