surrounded by people with your values and all the training you need to succeed in your chosen profession on this episode I was joined by Dr Alan kades President of turo University and Rabbi Dr Michael schmidan Dean of The turo Graduate School of Jewish studies where students enjoy close interaction with faculty Superior instruction and a rigorous curriculum as they pursue master of arts degrees in Jewish studies focusing on either Jewish history or Jewish Education or a PhD in Jewish studies to learn more visit learning and achievement so so I think we should start off I usually ask the listeners the the guests about uh the background so I guess whichever one you want to start off I'll ask you both about your um your background we can give the listeners a little bit of uh you know brief uh disc description okay so n it's a pleasure and an honor to be your guest um I ha from Brooklyn specifically canari where my father aiid Z was mus from in Europe was the aiid Z was mus from in Europe was the mar he was Rabbi of congregation o of Shalom which was known as the Kevon SCH for over 50 years and a MAG sheer at BTA the high school that I attended uh I then studied at Yu learned at where I had this of learning various and Y with r Sal then an MA degree at Hebrew University and subsequently a PhD degree University and subsequently a PhD degree in medieval Jewish intellectual history at Harvard University where I had the singular privilege of studying closely with um har Professor Z and also had the signal honor of uh of co-authoring a book with him it was a Hebrew textbook for the open University univ on R it's entitled and U while in Cambridge served
