0:00 The Alter Rebbe had two students who came to him, and they bought a large forest in order to cut wood from there. He told them to buy this forest, there will be wood there, there will be blessing there and everything... They bought this wood. They bought them and the place, these two partners. After that he told them to buy the place, they bought it, this whole lot of wood.
0:32 After they bought the wood, They made self-sacrifice and bought this. Two days after that, it all burned down. The whole forest burned. Everything they had bought was gone. One chassid had many questions. Why did the Rebbe tell him to buy? The other chassid made a feast and a celebration. They did not understand why. Like, the first one they understood, he has questions, everyone understood.
0:57 How could the Rebbe tell you to buy this field, and your whole field burned down, while the other chassid, who made a feast, no one understood why he was making a feast. They came to ask him, why are you making a feast? So he said, if the Rebbe told me to buy, it is a sign that there is a great will and a reason here, something the Rebbe said, that is, my joy is that I remained a chassid, after I saw that the Rebbe told me to do something that is not good for me, and I still remain in my loyalty to him, and in my emunah in him, this is what keeps me a chassid.
1:30 So for this I make a feast. Every year he made a feast on that same day when he had this thing, because he was a loyal chassid of the Rebbe, and no question entered him about what the Rebbe told him to do, the Alter Rebbe. The other chassid, who had many questions, and he was saved through something else. He had a salvation afterwards in his livelihood, and then he said, yes, from heaven, he understood and so on and so on.
1:57 One day he approached the Alter Rebbe, he asked him a question, about something else, that he had a complaint... You are, from today, no longer my student, do not come near me anymore. He did not understand what happened. He was frightened very much when he said this to him. He said to him, whoever has a complaint and a root of complaint, he is the root of the Erev Rav, you are Erev Rav, you are always complaining, and I do not want you near me anymore.
2:24 Go from here. That first one, who rejoiced at the feast every year, in the end he merited great wealth, after a few years, merited wealth doubled and redoubled, very much beyond measure, on that same day when he made the hilulah, the joy, that he remained in his joy.
