we're gonna learn tonight about multiple different items however we've called this class understanding the dichotomy between holiness and impurity we're about to learn some very very real concepts and some questions that we've all asked ourselves and then why is it so well tonight you are about to find out why are certain things the way they are starting up at the beginning of the parasha [Applause] parsha starts off with a parsha starts off with a very interesting commandment this commandment is a hook a hook is a obligation that god gave us and it's something we do not understand we cannot rationalize with it we can't wrap our head around it to say it makes sense now yes we can but that's not the purpose why was given for example the very fact that we are not allowed as jews to eat meat and milk is a hook meat and milk is a hook it is a non-rationable and non-understandable law it's considered a hook there are three categories rabbi samson or falhesh goes on to explain the three different categories we're not going to do it at great length although he dedicates pages and pages to explain it however there are three different categories of mitzvot there's a of commandments there's a mitzvah commandment there's a mishpat which we could call it as a law and a hook is is another type of law let me tell you briefly the difference between them between them is some type of um you want to call it ritual for example observing the sabbath for example wearing to fill in lighting shabbat candles any any ritual based commandment that's a mitzvah that's a voy that's a commandment now next category is a mishpat is a law that makes sense meaning it makes sense to not steal it makes sense not to murder it makes sense to pay for
