so this week's Parsha is called showtim which means judges it begins with the command to place judges and police in all of your cities and towns so that there should be a Judicial System of people who make laws enforce laws adjudicate laws as well as people who are there to actually make sure people follow them without police without officers of some sort of sheriffs the officers of some sort of sheriffs the judges and government are of little value because nobody will listen to them they need to have an enforcement power in order to be able to enforce their laws matar then continues going through many many many different Commandments um like last week and we will continue you next week the tour just continues covering motions reminding the people of many of the various different Commandments I'll go over I'll touch on some of them speaking of Judges he warns them against speaking of Judges he warns them against taking bribes and judging favorably um he mentions that for any judicial laws or sorry for any um anything to be proven in Jewish Court in Jewish Criminal Court you would need two witnesses in order for the um testimony to be considered valid there will be a Sanhedrin a Supreme Council of Judaism Moses had already created one and they will continue and they will be situated near the temple wherever the temple will be eventually in Jerusalem and that sanhedron that Supreme Council
