0:00 With the help of Hashem, now, before these holy days of Purim, these awesome days that are coming toward us in peace, as it is written, 'And these days are remembered and done,' for these days have a special segulah: every time these days arrive, this is what is written, 'And these days are remembered and done,' in chapter 9 of the Megillah, Megillas Esther, this means that these days have the power and the meaning to recall and to do and to awaken all the deeds and the miracles and wonders that were done in those days, at this time.
0:34 To awaken greatly in holiness and in clinging to Hashem, blessed be He, to increase in teshuvah and in tefillah to Hashem, for in these days it is possible to change all of reality, everything, everything, for the good. And in the name of our master the Yaavetz, who wrote in the book Amudei Shamayim, part 2: to wear Shabbos and Yom Tov clothes on Purim and to be joyful, to wear beautiful and pleasant clothes, really. The day, the illumination of Purim - it goes on and is revealed to the whole year.
0:59 This light of Purim goes on and is revealed to the whole year, and one must always remember that this joy of Purim is not only the joy of rescue, that we were saved, that Hashem, blessed be He, saved us from the hands of the wicked Haman and Achashverosh and from all that they wanted to do to us, rather, the joy and the rescue is that we can remember and remain in our Judaism always. The wicked Haman wanted to remove us from the strength of our Judaism and to bring us, Heaven forbid, to the farthest place, and to destroy the bodies.
1:31 And the Jewish people succeeded and was saved in this miracle of rescue of Purim, and we rejoice; it is not a joy of wild revelry, it is not a joy of distance from Him, blessed be He; rather, it is a joy that we are alive and existing and we continued the Torah, we continued the faith of Mordechai, we continued the faith of Esther. The light of Purim is to remember always, always, always Hashem, blessed be He, in all the hiddenness, in all the force of the hiddenness.
1:56 The whole Megillah is entirely a story of one great hiding of the Face: 'And I will surely hide.' Esther from the Torah - on page 139 in Tractate Chullin, which means: 'Where is Esther in the Torah? "And I will surely hide."' And we call it a Megillah, Megillas Esther: 'Megillah' means revealing - revealing the hidden, to reveal the hiding of the Face. And each one of us must search in his life - each one, even the distant one and the distant ones - he must search for Hashem, blessed be He, within his own hiddenness; reveal the hiddenness.
2:26 Reveal the Megillas Esther. Everyone has a Haman, everyone has the evil that is Haman, everyone has the self-importance, that is Achashverosh; everyone has the light of the tzaddik, which is Mordechai; and everyone has the kidneys that give counsel - that is the woman, that is understanding, that is Esther - who gives the good counsel to each and every one of us. And one must always put the Megillah in order in life, that always, always, always it should be Esther - she is the queen, and Mordechai is the one who is listened to, and Haman is hanged on the gallows, and Achashverosh goes and gives way to the opinion of Mordechai, and it should not be the reverse.

3:02 That is why one who reads the Megillah out of order has not fulfilled his obligation, because if, Heaven forbid, we mix up the order, and hand the greatness to Haman, and cancel Mordechai, and give power to Achashverosh, then, Heaven forbid, this is the worst thing there is. One must always remember that we must see ourselves within the Megillah. Each one of us is within the Megillah, for 'these days are remembered and done' always, and always, always, always Hashem, blessed be He, looks at us, how we are found within the Torah, and how we must see our part within the Torah and reveal the hiding of the Face.
3:35 It is true that each one of us goes through a hiding of the Face, but the goal is to reveal the hiding of the Face. Even a person who is far from Him, blessed be He, if he knows that Hashem, blessed be He, is with him within the hiddenness, within the full force of this hiding of the Face - then he immediately turns his life story into Megillas Esther; he reveals the hiddenness and searches to see Hashem, blessed be He, within all this hiding of the Face. And therefore Psalm 13: 'How long, Hashem, will You forget me forever?'
4:02 'How long will You hide Your face from me?' This psalm corresponds to the Jews who were in exile, who prayed and asked Hashem to save them from this hiding of the Face; this was their request, to get out of the hands of Achashverosh, to get out of the hands of [unclear], as explained in the book Yosef Tehillos, that the whole thought and request is to ask Hashem: save us from the hiding of the Face, that we should always know that You stand behind everything, that we should not fall into heresy, that none of us should fall into apikorsus, that we should always cling in emunah to Him, blessed be He, despite the force of everything that happens in the world and all the difficulties.
4:38 But the true joy is that we have the ability to know - whatever a person will understand, always - that in all the hiddenness he is in, he will always reveal Hashem, blessed be He. Do not wait for Hashem, blessed be He, to reveal Himself to you; you reveal the hidden. We ask Hashem, blessed be He, that we merit this level, that we reveal the hiding of the Face, for if a person knows that Hashem, blessed be He, stands behind every darkness he is in, then he has immediately turned his life story into Megillas Esther.
5:06 And then Hashem is already a light for him, and then he can already receive the light and prevail. But the most important main thing, always, always, always, is to remember that we say at the end of the Megillah: 'Mordechai the Jew... accepted by most of his brothers.' Let us remember: he was not accepted by all his brothers, he was accepted by most of his brothers. And this comes to tell us the message that the light we have - a person always has within his heart the left chamber, the murky blood, which hints at Haman, at Achashverosh, at the self-importance.
5:33 And there is also the good chamber, the holiness, the purity, as the Alter Rebbe explains, the G-dly soul, the overcoming of the evil, the strength to prevail and to conquer, which is the light of Mordechai the Jew. And each one of us always fights to awaken the good and to extinguish the darkness, to extinguish the evil, to win the battles. And when we say, 'Mordechai the Jew was accepted by most of his brothers,' one must remember: one does not always succeed in reaching perfection, one does not always succeed in reaching full victory.
6:06 Not always. Also to know that it is possible to win, also to know that fighting is a mitzvah, a war of a mitzvah - in this should be the force of a person's joy. A person should not seek to rejoice only when he will be a complete tzaddik. Even now, when he is winning and trying and overcoming the evil, then he is 'accepted by most of his brothers'; let him rejoice in this too. For this should be the main point of our joy: that we merited at all to be of the seed of Israel, and I merited to be in the nation in which all the miracles and wonders in the world take place, and the watchful eyes of Hashem, blessed be He, are upon us always.
6:42 And this should be the main point of my joy, that a person should not be ashamed of anything and should not be in sorrow over anything. And this is the main point, this is what they say, when it says, 'These days are remembered and done,' it tells us that within all this time, within all the darkness we are in today in this exile, these awesome days suddenly awaken, which suddenly sparkle at that time, just as soon we are close and near to the festival of Pesach, and Shavuos, the giving of the Torah - all these days that are revealed and sparkle in the middle of the year, suddenly we merit and are included within these days, we suddenly find ourselves in that place which is above time, above the bounds of thought, and everyone can draw close to Him and be blessed, and all the gates are open.
7:28 And this is the beauty and the light that there is, and therefore we say: 'The Jews had light and gladness, and joy and honor.' 'And honor' - these are tefillin, this is the glory of the Jewish people, 'My son, My firstborn, Israel,' 'Israel, in whom I take glory' - the glory, the beauty there is in each and every one of us, that gives a little closeness to Hashem, blessed be He. Even a person who is far from Him, blessed be He, does something a little better toward Him, blessed be He, he gives immeasurable pleasure in the upper worlds before Hashem, blessed be He, and Hashem, blessed be He, rejoices in him.
7:59 But the main thing one must always remember is to be a Megillas Esther, to reveal the hiddenness. And if we see that Hashem, blessed be He, hides His face from us, and we are still in such darkness and see a hiding of the Face, then not to wait for Hashem, blessed be He, to take away the hiding of the Face, rather, we will reveal the hiding of the Face, we will reveal the hiddenness. We will turn into a Megillas Esther, we will turn into Mordechai the Jew and Esther the Queen, who sit in Shushan the capital and overturn the plans of Haman, overturn the plans of Achashverosh, and bring the Jews out to relief.
8:33 This is the strength and the courage that was the awakening from above and the awakening from below, between Purim and Chanukah, for they say that they bring about the miracle that was done from above to below, and on Purim we made a great noise above until it flowed down below. But one must always remember that if Mordechai the Jew and Esther the Queen had not understood the hiding of the Face, had not understood that one must fast, not understood that one must awaken, not understood that one must ask Hashem to save us from the hiding of the Face, then we would have remained in this hiding of the Face.
9:04 Rather, sometimes one must condense the counsel and know that the very knowledge - that they knew this is a hiding of the Face from Him, blessed be He, 'And I will surely hide' - and also that we call it by the name Megillas Esther, that a person reveals the hiddenness, then even wherever he will be in the world, and at whatever level he will be, he will always be able to come out to relief. That he should always say to Hashem, blessed be He: Master of the world, I know that You, blessed be He, alone, are the One who stands behind all my difficulties and my obstacles and my sufferings.
9:35 And I trust in You, blessed be He, that You will save me and rescue me and bring me close to You. And so he will be careful in saying Tehillim and words of praise and thanksgiving to Hashem, until 'Hashem looks down from Heaven and sees,' and has mercy. May the Holy One, blessed be He, bless you that you do valiantly, and make Torah great and make Torah glorious, and may the will of Hashem be in your hands, and may Hashem make you succeed. 'You are blessed to Hashem, Maker of heaven and earth.'
