This story was published back in the days of the Chazon Ish, and later the Steipler was asked about it, and he said it is one of the most awe-inspiring stories about the Chazon Ish; a story about the Chazon Ish's diligence and his devotion to his fellow man. But this story is a bit different from the usual: you can hear Hasidic tales about all kinds of soul rectifications, but to hear a story now that the Chazon Ish was involved in— that is quite a wonder. He worked there as a manager of a cooling/ AC unit in a garage. Even during the Holocaust, he said, in the labor camps, that was what he knew how to do; he gained his expertise there. When he came here, he was already a great expert. He would work there around the clock. He became completely estranged from the path of Torah and commandments ; he kept nothing, absolutely nothing. He reached a state, God forbid, where he desecrated Sabbaths and holidays; he worked all the time, and even on Yom Kippur he would work. Imagine, Yom Kippur night, 5713—let's go back a few years, if it's 5717...5713 was 1953 , Maybe four, fine, almost four, 74 years ago—Yom Kippur night 5713. He is in the midst of working in his garage there in Rishon LeZion, when his father appears, Rabbi Chaim Mordechai, who perished in Auschwitz. He sees his
