So, this week is parshas beshalach. Parshas beshalach is shiras hayam. But, today we will be discussing a mitzvah which is so relevant to all of us. And I usually prefer discussing mitzvahs which are part of our daily or weekly routine of avodas hashem. What is krias hatorah all about? Krias hatorah Monday, Thursday, shabbos. hatorah Monday, Thursday, shabbos. Right after bnei yisrael said shiras hayam. Vayasa moshe es yisrael miyam suf, vayaitzu el midbar shur. Vayeilchu shloshes yamim bamidbar velo matzu mayim. They were three days wandering in the desert and they didn't find water. And chazal's pshet in this pasuk is interesting. So, nevi'im shebeineihem right after krias yam suf umetaknin krias hatorah. So, how could you say Ezra was the one? And the Gemara answers Nevi'im she beneihem Nevi'im she beneihem were metaken the original takana, but their takana was a minimal one. Three people each reading one pasuk, or one person reading three psukim. Ezra expanded that takana, and he was metaken a minimum of 10 psukim and three people that are oila l'Torah.
