par this week's paraa contains perhaps one of the most uh obvious and uh glaring redundancies in the whole Torah maybe second to uh to the offerings of the the donations of the nuseum of the princes in Paras NASA which repeats 12 times but uh in this week's paral we have that Abraham sends his eved his we have that Abraham sends his eved his servant to slave uh to go find a wife for his son y for ab son yak and uh the Torah goes through the conversation that Aram has with this servant the mid identifies him as Alazar and that's what we'll be assuming throughout this this class so he tells Alazar to go and uh he gives him his assignment it tells us what Alazar does it tells us about alzer's meeting with Rifka at the well alzer's meeting with Rifka at the well and then it tells us that alzar goes to rifka's house the home of her father B and he then repeats everything that happened up till then so we have about 18 verses just repeating exact everything that had just happened as he tells it over to Buel and uh and rifka's brother Lan so the question becomes why is that necessary why does the Torah have to repeat everything it could have have to repeat everything it could have just said that and elazar told over everything that happened and then we could just move on and save ourselves 17 verses so uh so Rashi in uh chapter 24 verse 42 it's the First Source Rashi says Rashi quotes the mid mid
