last week we spoke about the importance of self-esteem of having a realistic self-image and if you remember I pointed out that there are a lot of people a lot of excellent people gifted well qualified who for some reason or other grew up feeling negatively about themselves and unjustifiably so and we pointed out that as a result of the fact that they felt negative about themselves many things happened in their lives including alcohol or uh drug problems including alcohol or uh drug problems want to continue a little bit on that theme today uh just a little bit of elaboration um first of all I pointed out if you remember that a lot of Alcoholics will say I'm a Loner uh and almost as though they don't like being with people remember what we pointed out that it wasn't that they don't like being with people at all it's that they're afraid of rejection because given the way they feel about themselves they anticipate that they are going to be rejected the reason for that is this if I were to the reason for that is this if I were to ask any of you what do you see over here you would say uh a Lector and I say what color you say brown all right now what do you think somebody else sees when they look at this and you'll say well of course they see a brown Lecter and what else because normally we assume that the way we see things that's the way they are and when other people look at them that's the way what they that's what they see as well I mean why would anybody see anything different that's reality now given that if you have a perception of yourself and you think of yourself and you see yourself as being
