So thank you Dr. Bondi for joining me. >> Hey uh I'm Elliot Bandi uh I'm originally from Baltimore. I'm a uh a physician. I a uh I head the pulmonary critical care division uh of Brookdale Hospital. Uh I've been practicing for uh more than 50 years. I'm I'm the grandson of a lier and have uh grown up uh with uh with the the Hersian traditions. I'm I'm old enough that that I speak German fluently. Therefore, I was very close to Leoer who uh who whose language was German. And uh I was I my parents brought me even as a young young child very often to to Washington Heights and uh therefore I was uh became very close to early that's just as a way of introduction. This is why I I able to understand the uh the very difficult German of of H which to the modern Germanspeaking uh person you will lose the nuances uh and the uh references which he makes uh unless one is familiar with the the German, the the high German of the 1800s. Anyway, I was always interested in in writing and uh even in in high school. I uh I edited a newsletter for the class which was really detra and uh I continued I actually started to to give uh uh to to give shir in uh in when I was when I was you know in my youth and uh even in my my residency training which was at at Einstein I used to give on Chavis alternating with Rabbi Tendler's son Yako Tendler we alternated giving Shurim on Chavis
