The medrash says, who will testify against Klal Yisrael, whether we kept the mitzvahs or not? Shamayim v'aretz. Question, we need aidim? I thought ayin ro'eh v'ozen shoma'as. I need Hazinu Hashamayim. Why can't the Ribono shel Olam be the aid? Why do we need the witness, the testimony of Shamayim v'aretz? Says Rav Avraham Breuer, because Ribono shel Olam is the dayan. And Bav Kama daf tzadi, ein aid naseh dayan. Ein aid naseh dayan. So, if the Ribono shel Olam is the dayan, he needs outside witnesses. K'shem Hashem Elokeinu ki karah ha'avugoy l'Elokeinu. What's the makor Birkas haTorah? K'shem Hashem Elokeinu ki karah ha'avugoy l'Elokeinu. Says Gemara Berachos daf chof alef, Birkas haTorah l'faneha min haTorah minayin? K'shenemar, K'shem Hashem Elokeinu ki karah ha'avugoy l'Elokeinu. What about Birkas haTorah afterwards? Kavachomer from Birkas Hamazon. What about Birkas Hamazon before? Kavachomer miBirkas haTorah. What about Birkas Hamazon after? V'achalta v'savata. So, we have a pasuk for Birkas Hamazon after, we have a pasuk for Birkas haTorah before. Birkas haTorah after, we learn out from Birkas Hamazon. Birkas Hamazon before, we learn a kavachomer from Birkas haTorah. So, where is it written? Birkas haTorah before, Birkas Hamazon after. Why is it written in those two places. Says the Sam Sofer. Before you eat, you don't need a pasuk.
