And after he looked at me, he looked at my scans, he looked at my wife and he said, "Look, I don't know where you think you're going now, but you guys are going to the hospital and Dan needs to have surgery tomorrow." This experience taught me that the gratitude is actually in just being in the moment and welcoming the moment, whatever it is. Like, Hashem had a plan for all this. I I didn't. He said, "Dan, you're going to spend the next x amount of months wrestling with this and then you're going to spend part of your life recovering from this." That's all, hashem, right? Gratitude is just recognizing that in this present moment, recognizing that in this present moment, I'm exactly where Hashem needs me to be and these are the challenges in front of me that I'm supposed to be handling and not worrying so much about what's in the past and not worrying so much about what lies ahead. The healthiest thing I ever did was getting on that plane. Like most entrepreneurs, my self-worth was tied up entirely with the success of the business.
