Joyful greetings to everyone. We are currently in the days of Chol HaMoed Sukkot, and I would like to touch upon a point related to both the holiday of Sukkot and the portion of Bereshit. It is well known to everyone what is said in the Midrash, found in Parashat Pinchas, sign 882. The Holy One, Blessed be He, wished to set a holiday in every single month of the summer. At the beginning of Creation, the Holy One wanted there to be a holiday every month during the summer. How were the holidays arranged and what was His intent? That depends. There is a version that appears in the Pesiqta deRav Kahana. There are things written by the Chida. Everyone goes by their own phrasing and style, but the idea is : Nisan is Passover, Iyar is the Second Passover, Sivan is Shavuot—until now, everything is fine. That is indeed how it was. In Tammuz, it was the Memorial Day, and in Av, the Day of Atonement. In Elul, Sukkot, and in Tishrei, Shemini Atzeret. That is how it appears in the Midrash.
