0:00 You know that a person alone, how hard it will be for him to fix, to toil, to arrive. The Sages, Moshe Rabbeinu, whom we had in every generation, and Shmuel the prophet, and all the holy and pure ones the Jewish people had, The Jewish people were saved through them. Hashem answered them, He sanctified them, they were purified, salvations, deeds - all the good influences come from the Sages, from the tzaddikim. And if Korach had understood this, that on the contrary, this is the source of my abundance, Moshe, then this would have been the thing, the gift. Korach's flaw was that he did not understand that Moshe is the source of abundance.
0:36 It is the manna that came down for Israel, it is all the abundance that came down for the Jewish people, it is the Exodus from Egypt. Here was the pain of Hashem, blessed be He, over the matter of Korach. I thought about this more, about these things, to understand that this is beyond pride, that it is a flaw, that a person does not understand that the tzaddikim are the eyes of the congregation, through whom we merit all the good influences, wonderful soul-rectifications, wonderful kedushah, Torah, purity, cleaving, purpose.
1:03 This is what Hashem, blessed be He, teaches us. And there is a beautiful explanation of the Toldos Yaakov Yosef. He compared it to a parable of a person who walks before the king in a dark forest, and he walks before him with a torch. But it is not that he walks before him with a torch because he says, I am more than the king. Rather he walks in order to light the way for him, because of the snakes, because of the thorns, the thistles... so that he can pave the way for him. And then one can truly understand that Korach's mistake was that if he had understood that Moshe walks before us like a torch, he walks before us in order to light our way, in order to pave our way for us, he does not walk before us because he is more than us,
1:41 he walks before us in order to give to us, in order to light for us, and because of this the Holy One, blessed be He, was so strict about it, and therefore a person who is distressed, that Korach would be distressed that there is Moshe, this is the greatest mistake and curse, Because you lose yourself, in the end you are the one who reached the ground. Because you lose yourself, if you had accepted Moshe, Then yes, you would have seen... And this is "one who disgraces has no remedy for his wound," because a Torah scholar is the root of the remedies in the world.
2:08 And therefore Moshe Rabbeinu drew his mercy to all the Jewish people.
