From this, we learn that until then, Abraham had not seen Sarah, and only now did he see her. The Maharsha asks there, since the Gemara in Tractate Kiddushin, page 41a, says it is forbidden for a man to betroth a woman until he sees her, and the Rambam says in Laws of Marriage, Chapter 21, Halacha 2, that for this reason, it is permitted and even recommended that a man, before he gets married, meet the girl and see if she finds favor in his eyes or not. The Gemara says at the end of Tractate Ta'anit, "A woman is only given for beauty," so you need to see if this beauty really suits you or not. The Gemara in Tractate Sotah, page 46, says, "The grace of a woman is upon her husband"—there must be some grace here.
