What’s said in this shiur

The opening of this shiur, in Rabbi Shais Taub’s own words — taken from the captions, so names and Hebrew terms may be approximate.

So, tonight is Chof Menachem Av, the Yahrtzeit of the Rebbe's father. Being that it's the Hilula, the Yahrtzeit, so we're doing a special Sicha in the Rebbe Redt zu Kinder, which is based on the Rebbe's talk to Sivas Assirem Chof Menachem Av Tavshin Mem Tes. The Rebbe said several Sichos to the children. And uh this is one of them. Let's uh just jump in. It's a very long Sicha, lifi erech, relative to uh compared to the typical length of these uh the Rebbe Redt zu Kinder Sichos. And we're not going to cover all of it. We'll do uh some of it inside, and then I'll summarize the rest outside. Okay. So, let's just jump in. Wie bewusst ist der ganze Leben von dem Baal Hilula gewesen limud haTorah. It's known that the entire life of the Baal Hilula, the Rebbe's father, was limud haTorah. The Rebbe defines his father's entire life as being limud haTorah. Sei lernen far sich und sei farshpreiten Torah zu andere Yidden. Both learning for himself as well as spreading out Torah to other Jews. Afilu in a Zustand fun sakanas nefashos. Even in a situation where doing so was literally life-threatening. Even those who are only cursorily aware of the Rebbe's father's biography know that he had incredible courage and defied the the communist regime even under the most harrowing circumstances. Und in Torah gufa, the Rebbe is more specific now. In Torah itself, hat der Speziel sich aufgegben mit Pnimius
