0:00 Look how beautiful: 'And these are the generations of Yitzchak' - Yitzchak is the gevuros. Yitzchak is the judgments, the gevuros. The generations of the judgments - where are the judgments born? All the judgments, all the ordeals, everyone wants to know where they are born. So the novelty is that the judgments and everything, they too are sons of Avraham. Avraham is kindness.

0:24 What does this come to tell us? And then the Torah says again: 'Avraham begot Yitzchak.' Know always that also the judgments and the gevuros and all the ordeals that pass over a person, they too are sons of Avraham. What does this mean? That within all the judgments and the ordeals and the suffering, at their root, there too are the greatest kindnesses, which is 'In distress You set me free.' Search within all the judgments and all the hardships and all the darkness and gloom you go through in life for Avraham our father.

0:53 Remember always that Yitzchak - these judgments and gevuros - 'Avraham begot Yitzchak.' Always search to see the Holy One, blessed be He, and the great kindness that is revealed. For you know that the likeness and the facial features of Yitzchak our father - once it was not like today. They say Avraham begot Yitzchak - it was in the category of a miracle, because people gossiped: so that they would not think Sarah conceived from Avimelech. So they saw that everyone - the facial features - everyone said: listen, this is his son.

1:18 It is the same; they look alike, there is no difference between them. What was the secret in this? To tell everyone - everyone who was there at that time - that Avraham begot Yitzchak. Always, in every generation, they took it and did not see the way and the true light that the holy ones in every generation wanted to bequeath to us - to shine the light of Hashem, blessed be He. There was a hiding of the face. Therefore in the end, what does it tell them? The Torah says: 'Avraham begot Yitzchak.' When everyone would go and say, 'this is the son of Avraham our father.'

1:48 And therefore, when a person sees that within all his hiding of the face the Holy One, blessed be He, is there, then immediately, what happens to the trouble? It turns into a window of light. And what turns? What happens to the plague? It turns into delight. And what happens to 'karet'? It turns into a crown. Therefore always remember: 'These are the generations of Yitzchak, Yitzchak son of Avraham; Avraham begot Yitzchak.' So all the judgments and gevuros a person sees in life, and the ordeals he goes through - do not be afraid, because these judgments too are born out of kindness. When the Holy One, blessed be He, does such kindness - it is written in Zechariah: 'And it shall be at evening time' 'there shall be light.'

2:26 Precisely at the time of darkness and gloom, the secret of the Covenant Between the Parts, what Avraham our father went through, all the exiles, at their root - there Hashem, blessed be He, is found. - Since we came to know the Rav, I see light all the time.
