be cautious about the behavior of the Ktanim, the minors. One has to do with the mitzvah of the prohibition against eating Shratzim, eating rodents. One has to do with the prohibition against eating blood. And one has to do with the prohibition of Kohanim becoming impure as a result of contact with a corpse, a lifeless body. What do I mean three times? What am I talking about? Generally speaking, there is no mitzvah, there's no biblical mitzvah of chinuch. Meaning, there is a Torah mitzvah that a father ought to teach Torah to his children. There's a mitzvah on Pesach that parents ought to tell the story to their children. But the daily performance of mitzvahs by children below the age of bar mitzvah or bas mitzvah, 12 or 13, 12 for girls and 13 for males, for boys, is not a biblical commandment. The rabbis instructed parents, fathers, to train their children in the daily performance of mitzvahs when they reach a certain age, the appropriate age for the particular mitzvahs. But biblically, there's no mitzvah to train your child in the performance of mitzvahs. How about, the question is, are parents therefore allowed to feed their non-children the the feed their children non-kosher food? That is the question. True, rabbinically, there's a mitzvah to educate the children in the mitzvahs, but that's only rabbinic, and it's also
