Good morning everyone. Good to see you all. Happy new year. First class of the year of the Jewish year. That is uh a lot to discuss before we get to the um before we get to our topic for today. Uh we can start with the para. The para this week is the second to the last para. Um it is the portion of haenu that we will be reading this coming Saturday. It is actually all a song um that Moshe wrote that tells the future of the Jewish people. Um it is written Jewish people. Um it is written poetically. There's a number of poems in the Torah and throughout scripture. This is one of the most notable ones. Um the entire para is a song that we split up into different readings. Um, so it's um somewhat, you know, written in poetic style. Um, so harder to understand, not as clear. It's kind of regular writing. Um, but it tells the story of um, Israel, how Hashem took us out of Egypt, took care of us, gave us the promised land, and then, um, in the poetic words of, of, Israel got fat and kicked. Um, in other words, as things were well and things were good and we were successful, we forgot about Hashem and we forgot about um our covenant that we made with him and um and uh we were unable to and as a result, Hashem punished us and we were driven from our land and um and suffered. But he will eventually bring us back to our land and punish those who have um harmed us over the years. So
