so good evening everybody it is so wonderful to be back here at Mercer Mondays at the torch Center and we have some new faces here so welcome you're not new I know it's good to see you again you're new here it's great to see you thanks so we'll talk after class we'll get to know each other hopefully through the process of learning together and preparing for Yom Kippur who's ready for the most awesome day of the year the absolute greatest day of the year the absolute greatest day of the year is Yom Kippur it's not the holiest day of the earth but it's the most special day of the year the holiest day of the year comes around 52 times a year with your Shabbos but the the the the most special day is Yom Kippur and I like to compare it to you know they remember those erasers that would come on the Pens you know they'll do it have those Paper Mate pens and they came up in your Acer they never erased pen right they never erase the erased pen right they never erase the pen but if you take a pencil and you write on a piece of paper and then you try to erase it with with the eraser it will usually come off and if you didn't press too hard on that pencil you won't be able to see that there was ever a pencil writing there and ice it's almost the the the parallel between us forgiving other people in God forgiving us you see if I do something to someone and I say I'm sorry they're like alright
