0:00 My teachers and masters, we welcome with blessing our teacher and Rav, the Gaon, the Yanuka, one of the Torah giants of the generation, that every blessing that comes out of his mouth is fulfilled. And I ask everyone to sit with holy awe to hear the words of the Rav's mouth.
0:25 The Rav speaks very concisely, and it is worthwhile for everyone to hear every single word. And he will illuminate us with the light of his Torah - the Rav, the Gaon. With the permission of all the honored rabbis, with the permission of the Rav, the tzaddik, the head of the family, Rabbi David, and all the holy and honored congregation.
1:05 I, the small and lowly one, only bless the family, that Hashem, blessed be He, should give them strength, help and assistance from Heaven to continue. That Hashem, blessed be He, should strengthen the heart of the father and the mother.
1:29 Hashem, blessed be He, should comfort them, give them comfort: "I am He Who comforts you." We need to understand that today, this generation - it is the hardest generation there is, the lowest, most lowly generation.
1:57 People live with self-sacrifice - so many tragedies and so much suffering, and so many hardships. This last Pesach, at the end of the Seder night, I said: "Master of the World, we were with Pharaoh, and You took us out of the house of slavery, but Master of the World, we are still in exile."
2:31 We need to ask Hashem, blessed be He, for the geulah. The fact that we are still in exile now - we are forbidden to think and settle down for one moment, to understand and think that this is the purpose, and this is how we are supposed to look. All the troubles we hear of and all the sorrow we see - that is the sorrow of the Shechinah.

2:55 Every sorrow we see, every pain we hear of, is the sorrow of the holy Shechinah. Every person who has sorrow in his home, every pain there is in the whole world, is the sorrow of the Shechinah. There was the holy Gaon, Rabbi Meir of Apta. At the end of his book, "Ohr LaShamayim", he asks a question, and he gave an answer to his question.
3:24 He asks: which kind of tzaddik is greater in stature - a tzaddik who desires suffering and takes suffering upon himself, to suffer for the Jewish people, or a tzaddik who does not want suffering and does not desire suffering? And there he writes and decides that the tzaddik who does not want suffering is greater in stature than the tzaddik who wants suffering.
3:53 And there he explains the reason for this. After all, we know that every sorrow and pain that the whole Jewish people has - about this it is said, "In all their trouble, He was troubled." The Holy One, blessed be He, feels the pain of this sorrow just as the Jew feels pain. The sorrow the family has, the sorrow a person has, is sorrow that is drawn down from Above.
4:19 And from the sorrow of the Shechinah, a little of it comes down to us here. The sorrow we feel here is immeasurably small, beyond anything one can imagine, compared to the sorrow of the Shechinah. The Shechinah weeps. And at the time a person passes from the world, there is a voice crying out that is heard from one end of the world to the other. We see that the Holy One, blessed be He, is in sorrow and is pained over the situation that we, the Jewish people, are in.
4:49 And Hashem, blessed be He, lets us know this sorrow because we need to understand that we cannot continue in this exile. If we ask Hashem, blessed be He - just as the Jewish people were in Egypt and we were in the house of slavery, and the Jewish people cried out, "and their cry went up to G-d" - immediately the Holy One, blessed be He, saved us and redeemed us, because the Jewish people prayed before Him.
5:18 But today the exile has already reached a state where most people think that it is possible to stay and carry on like this, and the exile is comfortable. And if there is illness, they go to the doctor, to the physician. And if there is (a problem with) livelihood, they go to the apartment... they go to the parents. The eyes are no longer lifted to Heaven.
5:43 The eyes have already gone far away. And then we already see the brokenness there is in the world, we see the pain and the suffering our people are going through. All of us - each one goes through what he goes through, in private matters or in public ones. Everyone has something to deal with. And all this sorrow of every woman and of every man, and every heavy burden - this is truly the sorrow of the Shechinah.
6:10 And a person who feels this sorrow needs to understand that the Holy One, blessed be He, is hinting to him: "Pray for the Shechinah." Rabbeinu Yosef Chaim has a book of responsa, "Rav Pe'alim". In siman 1, in part 1, he writes at the beginning - whoever wants to look into it, it is wonderful - to understand what the Shechinah is, to understand what Tikkun Chatzos is, why we say, "For the sake of the unification of the Holy One, blessed be He, and His Shechinah."
6:36 To understand these concepts, which are very worthwhile to study, in order to understand the depth of these things. But what we need to ask of Hashem every time, every day, is to pray for the Shechinah - to understand that every sorrow we have does not come from somewhere in the world; it comes from the Shechinah. The Shechinah lets us know this sorrow and asks of us: "Ask for mercy, ask for mercy for Me, ask that I should not have this heavy burden, ask that with Me there already be a unification between the Holy One, blessed be He, and His Shechinah."
7:12 And therefore I always recommend that everyone say, before a blessing, before everything, to say, "For the sake of the unification of the Holy One, blessed be He, and His Shechinah," and to know that every one... It is said in the name of the holy Baal Shem Tov that a Jew who is very far from Hashem, and a whole day goes by in which he did not lift his eyes to Heaven, and he was very distant from Hashem the whole day long, and toward evening he regrets it and says, "I didn't pray Minchah, I didn't do the Minchah prayer," and he is pained over it, and he goes into a small house and prays quickly - the seraphim and ofanim tremble from his prayer, because he is praying before Hashem, even though for a whole day he was very far from Hashem, blessed be He,
7:55 and in the end he decided to lift his eyes on high and pray. And this is how we should learn and see how precious before Hashem is every voice of every one of us, how much Hashem wants each one of us to lift his eyes to Heaven, and how precious, singular and special each and every one is. In this generation, when the offerings already go up before Hashem so much - awesome and precious souls that are offered upon the altar - and there is so much sorrow among our people, what is left for us is only to ask Hashem, blessed be He, for the complete geulah.
8:37 That we ask Hashem for this - suddenly we will see all the prophecies of our holy Torah, how everything comes true; to see the prophecy of Yirmiyahu, to see the prophecy of Yeshayahu, to see what Yechezkel prophesied in the vision of the dry bones. For all of us today look in and read the Prophets, or read the Writings, or pray from the book of Tehillim, or want to see what the Radak, what the Malbim explain about what the book of Tehillim was given to us for.
9:07 You know that the book of Tehillim - the whole Jewish people is included in the book of Tehillim. King David composed this book for the last generation, for the generation in which so many will have to cry out to Hashem to save them. And this is that book. It is a book every Jew should be connected to, and study it and read it, a little bit each day. They say about the Sfas Emes of Gur that once one of the chassidim came to him and told him that he reads the whole of Tehillim.
9:37 So he said, "How can you read this whole book? I read only one psalm - my whole head aches, and I have to bind it up from all the headache I have." That is what he would say: "From just one chapter, one psalm that I say - I can't say the whole book." We see how hard it was for tzaddikim even to pray, to see how much depth there is in the psalms, how much depth there is in the words. Accustom yourselves to pray to Hashem and to know that Hashem, blessed be He, hears us and is very close to us, and we have the strength and the hope to prevail and to come out of every darkness.
10:13 And what we must remember is that we must be strong, and must lift our eyes to Heaven, and must know that there is this world and there is the World to Come. There is a purpose. Nothing at all goes to waste, Heaven forbid, and for every smallest thing a person did before Hashem, blessed be He, he will receive his reward. And if we ask Hashem, blessed be He, for the complete geulah already, then we will merit the geulah too, and the building of the Beis HaMikdash, the Holy Temple, and the resurrection of the dead, for certainly all these things are alive and real.
10:46 And whoever does not believe in the principles of belief of the Torah and the foundations of the Torah, as Rabbeinu the Rambam listed them, he is counted among the deniers, the heretics and the apikorsim. And especially to believe in this - in the belief in the resurrection of the dead, to believe in the purpose, that this is the true and eternal purpose, the pure world that will be, that we are waiting for. And how many prophecies were prophesied to us, and how many things were prophesied to us about this.
11:11 So we need to hold on to this in this time of darkness, at a time when we see the pain so great. For once someone told me - once I spoke with a certain Rav, a very great tzaddik, a very great man, and he said that only when he had a very great loss, that he lost, when a relative of his passed away - he said: "Only then do I understand what it is to await the resurrection of the dead." That a person suddenly so longs for the resurrection of the dead, and he so yearns to see his relative again, his father who is no longer here.
11:45 He wants so much to see him already, he misses him, he wants to see him, he wants to see his face again. This is the belief in the resurrection of the dead: that a person believes and waits for it to come already, and to ask Hashem already: "Enough! Say 'enough' to all our troubles, say 'enough' to all our sufferings, all that we suffer, all that we are in distress." To ask Hashem: "Enough, we can't take this pain anymore, we can't take this suffering."
12:12 To ask the Holy One, blessed be He, to give the strength. And keep strengthening this holy and glorious family, and Rabbi David, the tzaddik. May the Holy One, blessed be He, give him strength and give him Heavenly assistance from Heaven, amen. And may He give strength to the father and the mother and to all these holy and righteous children. And may Hashem, blessed be He, gladden your hearts.
12:36 "And I, I am He Who comforts you." May Hashem, blessed be He, give you comfort and give you strength and help from Heaven, and all good abundance. And to bless all the holy and honored congregation: may you have good abundance, and all good, and from all good, may you have it in good that is seen and revealed, with joy and a glad heart, amen. May the verse be fulfilled in you: "And you shall say thus: 'To life!' Peace to you, peace to your house, and peace to all that is yours."
13:02 May G-d Almighty bless you and give you mercy, strength and hope, and all good abundance, in good that is seen and revealed, with joy and a glad heart.
