While much is said about the courageous armed resistance of the partisans and the Warsaw Ghetto, few know of the courageous spiritual and moral resistance of millions of Jews. Let's begin with an excerpt from the diary of Mocher Flinker, a 15-year-old boy. Mocher Flinker was part of a pious family of scholars living in the Netherlands. They fled to Brussels, where they were captured by the Germans. Part of the family was sent to Part of the family was sent to Achwitz, another part to Bergen. Among those sent to Achwitz, some Mochers were murdered. Other family members survived, while the daughters of the family returned from hell. They found some notebooks hidden in their attic in Brussels. It was the diary of their brother, Mocher. This diary is a remarkable document written by a very young boy in the heart of the turmoil. It contains profound and sublime reflections. We profound and sublime reflections. We see in it the state of mind of a young boy facing a difficult choice. These words resonate like prophecies. Most Jews believe that redemption and salvation depend on England's victory or defeat. Thus, when England wins, most Jews will not say that God saved them, but that England saved them.
