Bearing in mind this is the last year before Shavuos. Goes without saying it's only natural that we deal with in Yona de Yona. So the topic we will be discussing tonight is an interesting halacha that [clears throat] we find in Magen Avraham Siman 34 in Shulchan Aruch. And that is a minhag I think which in all Klal Yisrael Ashkenaz some Sefardim have the same minhag but definitely all the Ashkenazim that on Leil Shavuos we don't daven Maariv till tzeis hakochavim. And the Magen Avraham in the beginning of 34 writes ein mekadshen al hakos, you don't say Kiddush till tzeis hakochavim mishum temimus sheva shavuos temimos tiyenu. So the Magen Avraham seems to say if you're going to make Kiddush before nightfall, that means you are taking away part of the temimus and that is why you need to wait with Kiddush until tzeis hakochavim. The Tur Zahav says it's not only about Kiddush, you shouldn't daven Maariv till tzeis hakochavim. The source Magen Avraham quotes the Shlah. The quote of the Shlah brings Emek Bracha and that is the father of the Shlah and also Masseches Binyamin. So three most important sources, the Shlah his father the Masseches Binyamin and they speak about Kiddush and they specifically say the problem is not davening. The problem is only Kiddush. So it's a chiddush that the Taz, the Tur Zahav says you shouldn't daven before tzeis hakochavim and it is not only kiddush.
