there was a public school teacher who was asking the children in her class they were all from different faiths different backgrounds does your family have any religious objects at home so one little boy says yeah i think so we have this painting of this mother with her her head is glowing and she's holding a little baby and my mother kneels in front of it and and prays that's a religious object we have in the home and uh another one of the kids says yeah we have this uh statue this bronze statue of this this fat man kneeling on the ground sitting on the ground and my parents light incense in front of it every day and the teacher says yes it sounds like a religious object then this other little boy says yeah i think we have a religious object at home we have this platform in the bathroom on the floor and has numbers on it my mother goes in there every morning she stands on it and she says oh my god anyway today we are on our second class in a series a monthly series that is looking at the ten mitzvah campaigns initiated by the lava china and um it's interesting all of the mitzvah campaigns are in some way connected to the jewish home they're all about worship our relationship with hashem as it takes place not in the synagogue but rather in our own homes last month our class was about mezuzah is clearly that something goes on the doorposts of the jewish home
